We know Church is not all about Sundays, but if you are coming for the first time this week, here's how it looks....
Our morning service is a vibrant uplifting event with the Christ Central music team leading us in Spirit-filled powerful praise and worship.
As you would imagine with a name like Christ Central, our focus is Christ, His presence, His personhood, explored and experienced through the Word, worship and the gifts of the Spirit.
Our meeting starts at 10:30am,
lasting around 90 minutes, gathering for tea
coffee and fellowship afterward.
Christ Central is a vibrant and growing church in the city centre of Aberdeen. Our heart is to see our neighbours and our neighbourhoods transformed by the power and presence of God. We are a people from all nations, generations and vocations joined together to see revival and His kingdom come on earth.
This is a quick blast of information. We hope you find it helpful.
Christ Central is a multi-generational family with plenty of kids. We run a kid's programme - Alive & Kicking for pre-school to P7 children and facilities for mums and babies at the back of the main hall (with a TV link if needed).
Alive & Kicking is our Sunday School group,
During the week we run Bundles of Joy for mums and tots and for S1-5 we have Amped.
We love to pray as a family at Christ Central. We believe in prayer for healing and have many stories of people being set free from illness, sickness and disease. We meet at 10am every Sunday to pray and against 6pm in our evening meetings.
You can expect to hear prophecy as well as many other exhortations and encouragements.
We meet from house to house across the city during the week. We call these meetings Lifegroups. Lifegroups are an important part of what it means to be a member of Christ Central.
Our Church is led by Rick and Amy Brooks, who started Christ Central in 2002. Since those early days, they have trained up many people for leadership who are now active both in and out of Christ Central Church. We have three full time staff, with a total of thirteen people now leading departments. Our Senior Leadership team consists of men and women of all ages and backgrounds.
Outreach is very much in Christ Central's DNA. Our outreach team is known as TLC. We work into communities doing foodbanks, creating projects, helping communities. Working into primary schools, creating breakfast clubs, helping with fun-days, sheltered housing, play-park clean-ups (community tennis courts and park area), etc. In 2016 we won the Garthdee Margaret E Morrison Spirit of the Community award for our outreach and social action work with the communities on the South side of Aberdeen. Our supporters include MP Callum McCaig; Councillors Gordon Townson and Angela Taylor; Burgess of the City Scott Beatie and Paul O'Connor MBE; Robert Gordons University and Citrus Mix to name a few.
Tim McIlroy is on staff at Christ Central with the express remit of leading teams outreaching our city one community at a time. For more information about the work of TLC, the foodbanks and outreach ....
